Grumiaux with Bach Sonatas and Partitas

Another performance of Bach's works for solo violin.

J.S. Bach: Complete Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin BWV 1001-1006, by Arthur Grumiaux (1921-1986).

This is a very special performance, by a favorite violinist. It is one of the two recordings of this work I mark "Best Performance." It was made in 1960-1961 and released on CD in 1994.

Review of a new release in January 2006 which includes 2 of the 6 violin and harpsichord sonatas.
